Memory Montages

For fun, I have been experimenting with multiple photos of family, friends, and places. In essence they are composited snapshots. The technique I am using is rather simple (though it can get complicated quickly) and the results keep me grinning.

For me, these are wonderful "memory montages." Through technology, I am able to compress multiple instances of time into a single image. Perhaps at the very least I am eliminating all those extra digital pictures I never know what to do with.

I was inspired by Barry Frydlender's work, which was featured in the Summer 2007 edition of Aperture magazine and also in a solo show at the MOMA last spring.
