Permaculture

I do not know much about permaculture and have been interested in learning about it since traveling through Costa Rica. Living on Orcas is a perfect place to do this since the Bullock brothers live here. This weekend I am gong to camp out on their farm and attend a weekend class entitled an Introduction to Permaculture. I will be attending with an open mind and am looking forward to learning about what permaculture is, using the work gloves that they requested students bring, in addition to eating good, fresh food. Modern permaculture is a system design tool. It is a way of
1. looking at a whole system or problem
2. seeing connections between key elements (parts)
3. observing how the parts relate,
4. planning to mend sick systems by applying ideas learnt from long-term sustainable working systems.
